Online claims about herbs and Lyme disease mix very different kinds of evidence. If you want to discuss bottled herbal granules, bring your diagnosis and medicine list, and keep your doctors in the lead.
People living with ongoing symptoms after a tick bite often search widely for answers, and that is understandable. Among the results are articles that describe Lyme disease in the diagnostic language of traditional Chinese medicine, alongside lists of herbs. Those pieces can be interesting, but they need careful reading.
A laboratory finding, a personal story and evidence about a particular clinical approach each answer a different question. None of them, and certainly not an ingredient list, establishes an effective personal plan. A traditional framework is a way of describing illness; it does not show that a herbal product clears an infection. Tick-borne conditions in Australia should be assessed and managed by your GP and the doctors they refer you to.
Herbal medicine from Dr Christine Shen, Acupuncturist, is dispensed as bottled granules at the Lane Cove clinic. If you are curious about using them while under medical care, bring your diagnosis, the results of tests you have had, a full list of medicines including antibiotics, and details of any supplements or topical products. Christine will ask about the medical side of your story first.
Supportive care belongs beside established medical care, never in place of it. Moving to a different herbal preparation is not a reason to postpone a medical review or to change prescribed care on your own. Be wary of anyone who promises that an unverified protocol will eliminate the infection.
If you go ahead, ask for the bottle's written preparation, measuring and storage directions and an agreed review date, and keep them together with the label. Tell Christine whenever a doctor alters your medicines. If something new develops and you cannot tell whether it is connected, ask her instead of experimenting with the quantity.

Long-running symptoms can be draining. Some people find a calm, gentle massage a pleasant way to rest during a difficult period, as long as it sits beside medical care. Mention fatigue, joint discomfort or skin changes when you arrive so the session can be adjusted to how you feel that day.
