It is tempting to think frequent cupping means faster progress. Here is why spacing and skin recovery should guide how often you book.
When a session leaves you feeling loose and relaxed, booking again soon can seem like the obvious next step. Yet cupping applied too often, or with too much suction, can damage skin, and repeating it over an area that has not recovered makes healing harder. How strong and how frequent treatment should be are practical decisions, not a test of how committed you are.
Before you arrange another appointment, discuss three things with Dr Christine Shen, Acupuncturist:
Blisters, broken skin, marked pain or feeling generally unwell after cupping are reasons to contact Christine, and possibly your GP, rather than booking the next treatment. Your plan should follow assessment, not the hope that repeating a procedure will hurry things along.
Pick an activity or symptom you would like to review, such as turning your head while driving or carrying shopping. At follow-up, talk about that alongside comfort and how well your skin settled. Marks are only one piece of information; continuing should depend on your original purpose, how you have responded and the alternatives available, which might include massage or another hands-on approach.
Clients who care about the look of their skin will appreciate that well-spaced sessions also leave time for marks to fade before a special event.
At Lane Cove Acupuncture Massage Beauty, there is no pressure to book back-to-back sessions. If you are unsure whether your skin is ready, send a quick message to the Lane Cove clinic describing how it looks before you lock in a date.
